Hi – my name is Dr. Sara Kuburic, but most people know me by my Instagram handle @millennial.therapist.

I am an existential psychotherapist, former USA Today columnist, and author of IT’S ON ME. I am passionate about helping people live free, responsible, meaningful, and authentic lives. I have dedicated 14 years to studying psychology and the human experience despite every aptitude test telling me that I should be a film director (maybe one day…).

I started writing about these topics on social media several years ago – in short format. And now, with more than 1.7 million followers on Instagram,  I would like to offer more in depth thoughts that allow us to explore the complexity – and, really, the messiness – of our existence.

My phone is where I dump my thoughts to order the chaos in my head. All my friends have seen me randomly pull out my phone, open my notes app, and jot down thoughts. It happens in the middle of conversations, while watching movies, during flights, and – more often than not – while falling asleep. It's my way of organizing the chaos in my head. The notes on my phone are my unedited experiences, ideas, and feelings about life.

Many of these notes end up being shortened and repackaged for Instagram, but some of it never sees the light of day…until now.

Substack is perfect for allowing me to explore the nuance. It has old-school blog vibes, and a format that will allow me to delve into topics I am passionate about in a more in-depth and personal way.

So, what’s happening over here?

You can expect helpful and (I hope) insightful content. You will also become part of a community of people who share the same goal: navigating life more deliberately and exploring what it means to be human.

Most of my weekly-ish newsletters will include reflection on lessons I’ve learned and hard truths we all face. The newsletters will discuss relationships (of all types), identity, meaning, purpose, love, boundaries, responsibility, choices, healing, and so on. Some months, I will interview other therapists and writers, share photos of my life, and offer recommendations for books, movies, and apps.

If you're a paid subscriber, you will also get something extra from me each month. These extras might include:

  • Stories and experiences

  • Voice memos (and maybe even vlogs)

  • Q&A section

  • Journaling prompts

  • An extra piece of writing (thought, rant, idea, tip), including deep-dive explanations of posts I have created on Instagram.

  • Early announcements and offers

  • Surprises!

Thank you for reading along and wlecome! I’m glad we’re in this together.
