Wow. Your book It’s On Me was honestly life changing for me and now, when I’ve been feeling existential dread for the past week, this essay couldn’t have come at a better time. I need to read work by the authors you mentioned! I also have wanted to read Man’s Search for Meaning. Do you have an opinion on that book?
It's amazing how thoughts and narratives are shaped throughout a lifetime, seemingly out of nowhere, and often leaving you feeling misunderstood. Then, eventually you notice a string that connects you to the people and places that understand those very narratives and can weave them into a language you finally comprehend. I read this and felt my entire body exhale, I'm very excited for what's to come. Thanks for sharing.
I couldn't be a therapist without existentialism. It made everything make sense. I stopped studying psychology after my degree because it left me without answers, only more questions and doubt. When I returned to psychology many years later I found Irvin Yalom and the rest is history. I realised I could be a human and a therapist. Now the challenge is to live the existential philosophy that makes so much sense to me...

I’m so glad my book resonated ❤️ it was the first time I leaned into my existential training in my writing.
I love Man’s Search for Meaning!

LOVE HEIDEGGER. He is my favourite. Don’t tell the others.
"Existentialism isn’t just for philosophers. It’s for anyone trying to figure out what it means to be alive." OOOH yes, writer!

I sometimes wonder if I’d continue psychology if I didn’t learn about existential analysis when I did!
