Hard agree. I've had a day off today and even though I've done a few productive things I have also had a nap.. a nap! Which old me would have thought was a total waste, but yikes I feel great for slowing down and doing it. Great post, well timed.

I needed this!! Definitely in conflict with myself on wasting time. I often feel bad about taking time for me. But I’m learning that putting time into me allows me the ability to focus more on the tasks that need to

be done.

I’m retired but still struggle with “wasting time”. At age 104 and living a retirement center my mother thought she should do some “work” before sitting down for the day.

nailed it. I think about this almost everyday. We can’t barely rest or do whatever the f we want to have fun or get better in something (that isn’t work stuff) specially if it’s during comercial time, that the guilty knocks in. We must remember to remember that’s it’s ok some me time,,, right? Thanks for that

I think changing the language we use around productivity and rest is an important part of it. Referring to enjoyable activities as "wasting time" or "wasted time" is not helping anyone. I say I've had a productive today even if I've spent the whole day on my hobbies and special interests.

In a short piece of writing you have been able to condense in depth what we feel today when we take a moment out of "what we should be doing" and it is amazing how today's society pressures you to "always be doing something productive" otherwise it is a waste.
