Chat With a Friend: Learning to Take Up Space

A recording from Sara Kuburic and Vanessa Cornell's live video

I’ve noticed that so many “wellness conversations” feel overly polished, as if everyone’s performing the idea of insight instead of enjoying the chat. In trying to say all the right things, we lose the messy, human magic of real connection… the kind that reminds us we’re alive, uncertain, becoming.

This chat was supposed to be 20 minutes; we didn’t stop until 35. That’s because it was exploratory and meaningful (and fun!).

We talked about:

• Taking up space without apologizing for existing
• Rebranding discomfort as curiosity instead of danger
• The power of small, daily decisions that quietly change a life
• Staying grounded when you’re misunderstood
• Understanding responsibility as a form of freedom

I hope you’ll enjoy our conversation as much as I did. If it resonates, subscribe to Voicenotes From A Friend to hear more of Vanessa’s honest reflections.

Reminder: I’ll be hosting a LIVE zoom call on November 9th. A space for reflection, Q&A and community. 1pm EST / 10am PST / 7pm CET.

Join me!

I’m thinking of posting a bit more frequently on here (more than once a week), how do we feel about it?
