We've all experienced heartbreak—whether from a first love, family, or friends. It's in that moment we first learn how fragile (yet resilient) our hearts truly are. As cliché as it may sound, for many of us, the first cut was indeed the deepest. Not because that love was the greatest, but because of the unexpected pain, and sometimes trauma, that comes with being hurt in ways we never imagined.
Many of us carry this wound—or lesson, depending on whether we've processed it—with us as we move forward. That's why it's important to understand our relationship with our first heartbreak.
