Do you try to get the things you want? What is stopping you?
Too many of us live lives we don’t want. Sometimes we have legitimate limitations and hurdles that prevent us from getting what we want. But more often, we just don’t go for it.
Here are a few reasons we postpone getting the things we want:
We don’t know where to start
We are scared of failing
We don’t believe we deserve them
We are not willing to put in the work
We don’t feel “ready”
We are scared that if we get them we might lose them
We think that we will always have more time
The unsettling truth is that we never know how much time we have left. This is not meant to scare us – but to motivate us. We postpone our dreams so much that we don’t end up living any of them.
If you want to stop postponing life, here are some things to consider:
Clarify your goals. Make them tangible and clear.
Ask for support. Who can help you accomplish this goal?
Break it down. How would your days look different if you focused on achieving this goal every single day?
Dismantle your beliefs. If there are beliefs that make you feel like you don’t deserve the things you want, take time to question them, challenge them, and change them.
Start small. As a way to break the habit of being passive, stop postponing the small stuff! Sign up for that membership, answer that nagging message, or book that flight.
Also, just on a more personal note… I am so excited for my book to come out NEXT month!! Can you believe it?! This is the project I am most proud of! If you’re interested in reading a book about self-loss, authenticity and meaning, check out “It’s On Me.” Authors generally dislike self-promoting, but the reality is that preorders are SO IMPORTANT for us. So, if this is a book you’re interested in, get yourself a copy ;)

I used to feel that way about starting my newsletter. Every time I gathered the courage to share my writings, the voice in my head rebelled saying, "Wait till you get better" or "What if nobody subscribes?"
Over time, I've come to realise that life is too short to delay doing things that bring us joy. Life is so much better now!
Thanks for this lovely newsletter Sara
Hi Sara! :) wow, thank you so much for sharing your insights! I'd have some questions about the book...What was one of the most challenging aspects of writing your book? How did you deal with that?
Pre-ordered that today! Can't wait for it🤗🎉
